This is the personal website and creative project archive of lae astra.

Over the years, I have gone through various iterations of blogs and personal websites across different popular platforms, using the tools available on those specific sites. I was often frustrated by their limitations, how cumbersome they could be to use, and yet having to pay for them.

I began building this website on August 28, 2024. This was my first ever attempt at coding a website from scratch. I'm writing in HTML and CSS, in Visual Studio Code, on a refurbished base model 2023 Macbook Pro (my first new computer since the 2015 iMac I had been using) and an external display.

I am very grateful for much encouragement and support from ipso, who let me ask them many questions, whose guidance enabled me to craft this website much more quickly than I otherwise could have, and who met my efforts at experimentation with warmth and enthusiasm.

This website was ready to go live on September 4, 2024.

I'm honored to be part of the xxiivv webring, and to be in community with the folks at merveilles, whose personal websites, wikis, ideas and art have been incredibly inspiring to me.
